A really difficult hand! Personally I hate JJ on loose tables since you often need to hit the set to win. I would have played it different from you but would probably have lost anyway...
If you raise pre flop you would have defined to your opponents that you have a strong hand (maybe an A or pockets since 90% of the players tend to raise with a hand like that playing short-handed).
Considering that you only called pre flop and only raised $6 on the turn the opponent puts you on Jx (which probably was what you wanted). If you would have raised pre flop and betted fairly big on the turn the opponent would have put you on Ax and would have to give up the fairly big pot (would have been around $100 I guess) to you.
When hitting a flop like that I would have checked-raised (since he was loose) with the same result as you I guess but with a higher probability of the opponent folding because of my raise pre-flop...
The guy was lucky and you was ahead when all the money went in and if you continue to lead when the money goes in you will be a winner in the long-run.
